48 State Tour - 2021 Midwest & New England Tour

The 48 State Regional Tours in 2021 were a huge success! Thank you to everyone that helped to host, promote and participate.

The highlight of the tour was resetting a life size monument called the Seemann Angel at Mount Hope Cemetery in Osceola, Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Historical Society helped to co-host the event and had a camera crew on site to record a video that premiered at the annual Wisconsin Local History and Historic Preservation Conference. (view below)

48 State Tour 2020!

The 48 State Tour in 2020 was a huge success!

Unfortunately we had to cancel a few events due to rain, and a few events due to heavy smoke but we were able to conduct 41 successful workshops.

Thank you to everyone that helped to host, promote and participate in the 48 State Tour!

The Goal was 48 states in 48 days including travel, we added Washington, District of Colombia to make it 49… overall It was EPIC!!! About 20+ days in a row, however then there was snow, then smoke & fire, and then rain. A total of 41 events took place and about 35+ of them were very well attended!

The cemetery is my sense of comfort, my sanctuary in a world of darkness, the one piece of light that i have in my life.

Jon taught this class last year at Evergreen Cemetery and the information we came away with is allowing us to repair more stones than we thought possible. I can’t say enough of Jon’s knowledge and training. Jon Appell has been teaching classes across the country for over sixteen years.

In taking this workshop you will come away with the knowledge you need to care for your own historic cemetery by learning the tools and techniques in proper gravestone repair. Many historic gravestones have been destroyed due to untrained individuals and incorrect techniques. This is a hands on workshop where you will be working on actual stones that will be the same type of stones in your own cemetery.

The cost of the class will be $150 for one day, or $250 for 2 days per person. This will include breakfast and lunch each day. If you plan to attend only one day you are able to attend either day, as there will be review on the start of day 2.
Mailing Address: C/0 Dianne Hartshorn,  2620 South Blvd,  Colorado Springs, CO 80904

  • About 65 pages of printed materials are also included to each person in attendance! These will cover conservation, history, historic mortars, cemetery safety a materials list and more.

  • If you are in need of hotel accommodations, please contact Dianne, and I will work with assisting you in finding rooms.
